Mr Michael Adebayo Oluwademilade Olakunbi (MD/CEO)
On behalf of the staff and governors of MIVAC may I welcome you and your family to our college website? This is such an exciting time for our college; new students, new parents, new staff and all those that have been involved in its' development so far. The 'turf' was cut on 5th January 2008 and the 'Topping' ceremony (roof going on) took place on the 3rd May 2015
Our team is made up of experienced Lecturers, as well as experienced support staff. As College Board, we were totally impressed by the calibre of the candidates that have applied for positions and courses. We have been in a unique position that we could appoint new staff who were all committed to developing the team spirit and family feel of the college where staff, College governors and parents work closely together to provide the best possible environment for all students. Above all, it is our aim to provide a safe, secure and caring environment for all who come here.
The college benefits from fairly extensive grounds which will be developed over the next years with support from the students and our college community. We hope to have a satellite campus in Tede, a three acre riverside environment and Saki in Oke-Ogun, Oyo State; a wild nature grassy areas and building which will include several classes, sports arenas and admin facilities, libraries and modern State-of–the-Art ICT rooms.
We are opening our doors to students (Adult & School Children alike) on 21st November 2016. At present, we have a state of the art ICT class, Vocational Accountancy class, Computerised Accounts class, Ijamb and UTME/CBT class, Maths and English class, Block Moulding class, and Barbing& Hair Dressing class. As our community grows we will address the needs of the students we have in the college. This means that for the first few years, the adult to school child ratio will be very low and classes will be extremely small. Hence we are sure to grow at a fairly rapid rate. Our current Student Admission Number (SAN) Capacity is 24,000 in Foundation/Vocational courses and 16,000 in all other year groups. This has been kept low in the first year so that the college can meet the needs of the newly established growing community.
Please come and get involved! We believe adult and parental support is of paramount importance and so we will be actively encouraging parents to take part in their child’s college life. A Parent Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA) has been established and it is our intention to have a Parent and Adult Forum group who will discuss issues that will support us with the smooth running of the college. This is 'our' college and together we will shape it to meet our community's needs. Your feedback is very important to us!
Our prospectus will provide further details about our schools.
